i'm just fortunate that i don't have a sweet tooth. Although i am left with a bitter taste in my mouth that a holiday is not created that bases itself ultimately on the handing out of biscuits and cheese, crisps and all things savoury. It would of course have it's origins in the ancient festival of the sausage roll. The celts would eat sausage rolls at sporting events in the hope that digestive problems would be avoided. This was then adapted to biscuits during the great famine of 102BCE when livestock became scarce. They would ground down the bones of any available livestock and mix it with grain and bake them into the first modicum of a biscuit - this tradition has been lost, although a remnant of it remains in the form of the brand "chicken in a biscuit".

I saw this site: http://www.hauntedhouses.com/map.cfm and got all excited about finding a haunted house I could visit... but it only covers the US!

Come up to Queensland, (around my area to be exact)..... They have a huge Halloween procession, with prizes for the best costumes etc and they close off all the streets of the Manly CBD, from about 5.00pm till about 11pm and everyone goes halloween crazy..

Oh how cool!!

Yep, all the shops have pumpkins in their windows etc and some of the shop assistants are wearing costumes.

They've been doing it here on the bayside for a number of years now and it gets bigger every year..

I completely forgot.... At my High School (College, for some of you) we are having Spirit Week this week... with a different theme each day, before the Homecoming game... today, now, and the Homecoming dance next week. Wednesday... I completely forgot.... It was 'animated character day', and all you had to do was dress up as an animated character. I was totally ignorant of the fact that I could get a red cape and aviation goggles and be Cory Doctorow, or a samurai sword and be Richard Stallman. It'd be so funny seeing people's faces go 'huh?' or... if they recognised me... I'd run to my balloon.

I can't get xkcd off my mind, it being all delayed tonight, and all!

I officially have the shits with everything, so from the kindness of my own heart I have decided to stay at home tonight, so as not to kill anyone accidentally.

Haloween is a good night to get home from work late and then have a quick 4S and get out again.  It's not so much the kids knocking on your door and demanding rewards for looking and acting less evil than they normally do, it's the sight of the idiot parents who stand at the end of the garden path egging the little sods on and comparing the generosity of the neighbours.  Bloody hell, I thought they'd have learned not to knock on my door by now.  Last time I was in on Halloween, I scared them all shitless.  One of the lads at work downloaded some blood-curdling noises of torture and other human suffering.  When they appeared at the door, they were played at max volume on Master Dents boom box.  Half of them ended up in tears and the parents were extremely unnapreciative of my efforts to join in with the Haloween theme.  They even threatened to sue me.  Arseholes!

I got rear ended by a fuckwit in a black BMW 316ti who was pissed and God knows what else, then he pissed off ... blew a tyre on the kerb a little further up the road and kept driving home. Fancy looking fellow ... looked like he was employed in the finance sector. Little wonder the world is fucked in this regard. Unfortunately this happened at 1:30am so the Police wanted little to do with it. I am really fucking mad and am personally going to see to it that this prick will be living the rest of his sorry arsed life in agonising pain.
